DKCC Winter School Feb 8-12, 2021

Mittwoch, 24.02.2021

The Winter School hosted renowned keynote speakers and gave students the opportunity to promote their interdisciplinary research skills.

Goals and Programme:

The overall Winter School topic ‘Decision Making under Uncertainty in Responding to Climate Change’ was approached from various perspectives in four keynote sessions, each dedicated to a particular topic. Each topic was addressed by one leading expert in the field, and complemented by doctoral contributions and a structured discussion. Furthermore, students worked in parallel in several break-out-groups and could improve continuously on their interdisciplinary projects throughout the week. They were advised and supported by faculty and keynote experts. At half-time, we had a virtual drink & chat together and a climate-specific PubQuiz which was great fun. On the last day, the poster session provided individual feedback for students on their PhD projects. In the DK colloquium, as a follow-up to the winter school, groups presented their project results and got further feedback from the DK Scientific Advisory Board.
